Infertility
I offer evidence based therapy for individuals struggling with infertility. Infertility is often an unexpected and highly painful roadblock that can impact the way you see yourself and the world.
For some people, infertility may be the first challenge to the belief that if you work hard enough, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. This can lead to an exhausting cycle of over control, anxiety and self-blame. For others, infertility is yet another hurdle in a complicated journey, deepening a sense of anger and injustice.
Infertility can be isolating and put immense strain on an individual and a relationship. During individual therapy, you can expect to be provided with an informed space to get in touch with what you need as well as concrete and practical skills to address:
coping with difficult emotions such as loss, disappointment, anger, shame, fear, stress, uncertainty, and mood changes associated with hormones and medications
getting in touch or staying in touch with what is important to you outside of reproductive health
self care and relationship care
effective communication with family members about privacy and boundaries
complex and informed decision making
changes in identity, including injured sense of self and/or beliefs about the world
sex and intimacy
